Why use ASG Balustrades |
||
Benefits of Glass Balustrades"Like seemingly transparent walls, glass balustrades slice into the air, blurring contours with their reflections". Vertical sheets of toughened safety glass can be used either to enclose a balcony, terrace or staircase, or to make safe an area of entry to a swimming pool. Whether for domestic or commercial use, glass balustrades exhibit an unbeatable sense of drama, maximising light and views, allowing spaces to be saturated in daylight, or allowing the illuminescence of artifical internal or external lighting at night to wash the space to create the ultimate feel-good factor.The use of glass creates an extraordinary radiance; in brilliant sunshine the effect is spectacular. The glass sheets can be enviably seamless, even when interspersed by custom designed fine stainless steel posts. Balustrades will add a sense of lightness, lack of materiality and a very modern touch either to your home or commercial setting. ASG BalustradesSafety Glass and other products include :
Ready made products are everywhere and we often take them for granted and rely on them to give us a trendy makeover so as to keep up with other homes in the locality. But true design is not something you can buy off the shelf, and turning innovative and contemporary ideas into a reality can involve a high measure of expertise and experience. When revamping and specifying glass for something as complex as a staircase or balustrade there are so many options and emerging designs that you really have to do your research or source an industry expert. Whether it's a renovation or a new build, glass balustrades for verandahs, patios, staircases and glass pool fences are seeing a shift from being a bare essential with standard off the shelf designs, to an eye-catching design feature for residential and commercial projects. Design Frameless glass balustrades are any Designer's dream: they are versatile enough to suit a wide variety of specifications. Whether for commercial or residential properties, to modern or vintage, glass is an age old material that is timeless with a certain elegance; minimalist or otherwise. With space and light at a premium in many properties, glass gives Designers and Architects the exclusive option to create space and light from the glass itself.A frameless glass balustrade creates the wonderful illusion of unlimited space, and the Designer can showcase a seemingly floating staircase form, without interruption to its design. ASG ensure that glass balustrades, pool fences and glass balustrades for staircases are designed, and installed in full compliance with safety regulations. Without such advice a project can quickly turn from dream to disaster as the complexities surrounding the fixing of glass need to be sound. Frames are out of the loop, not only have the ugly steel or timber fixings gone but entire frames and banisters have disappeared. With the most stunning glass balustrades containing no more than a sheet or several panels of toughened glass either installed into in-ground totally concealed structural channels ; face fixed with a clamping system to concrete walls or stairway stringers; or supported by spigot mini posts clamped to the bottom of the glass panels, it is vital to get the right advice. Taking into account the surroundings the Designer may be working with and the effect they wish to create, the various fixing methods can be used, the windload, and human load factors. |
Glass can be set into an upper and lower channel usually from ceiling to floor, with the fixings completely concealed, or can be directly bolted to a steel or timber stringer or to a re-inforced concrete slab, using #316 grade stainless steel bolts, which may also be powder coated or plated in any type of metal finish, or the fixings can be hidden by concealing them within further claddings.The correct fixings are critical for the success of a beautiful and safe installation. Designers have the choice today of using a variety of aesthetic glass types, the majority being clear, tinted, and translucent frosted. It is also possible to have frosted designs sandblasted onto the glass panels for a unique look, or for Patented Switchable glass technology to be incorporated. Toughened Laminated Glass and toughened coloured interlayered glass is increasingly used in large design projects to meet engineering standards. RailingsWhere railings are specified, the balustrade can be enhanced with stainless steel posts connected to a range of stainless steel rail profiles or with fine stainless steel posts in satin or mirror finishes, joined with flat bar stainless steel rails, clad in a range of available exotic timbers. These timbers range from Australian limited availability semi-tropical hardwoods to exotic looking species timbers from Mangrove swamps of Africa, through to the Teak forests of Malaysia, and the Grand old hardwoods of USA.Swimming pool wallsSwimming pool designs are beginning to incorporate walls of glass as part of the swimming pool wall structure. Structural glass can also be incorporated as windows into re-inforced concrete pool walls. ASG can work with the Architect and Landscape Architectural Designer to create a structurally safe pool wall solution and can arrange Engineering services.Stainless steel wire rope cable fencesASG can also supply and install #316 grade Stainless steel wire rope fences which are supported by #316 Stainless steel posts and rails.
